Los Lantzmun
Parabola Trio

This incredible concert is truly an eclectic mix. Los Lantzmun plays high-energy Jewish world beat music -- a toe-tapping fusion of Eastern European, Mediterranean, and Middle Eastern music, sung in Hebrew, Yiddish, English, and Ladino (Judeo-Spanish) and fueled by a driving percussion.
Members of
the Intermezzo Chamber Players, Stacy Lesartre, Dianne Wachsman Betkowski,
and Nan Shannon, join to form The Parabola
Trio. With distinctive talent and a keen interest in all things
chamber music, they will perform Mendelssohn’s Piano Trio in D Minor.
Their rich cello, sparkling piano, and rhapsodic violin will leave you
humming Mendelssohn’s mesmerizing melody over and over again.
Ransoli & Camacho became
a duo in Mexico and then traveled throughout Central and South America, playing
and collecting wood for instruments. Their ancient hand-made flutes, mixed
with modern guitars, create exotic sounds that describe the mystery of the
mountains and valleys of South America. Miguel Camacho plays pan flutes,
bamboo flutes, and percussion while Rogelio Ransoli plays guitar and pan
flutes. Of course, you might also see them play a turtle shell, goats’ feet,
and the rain stick.
