Martian Acres is home to an official population of two—Bob Story and Dennis Wanebo—who combined their very different personal and professional backgrounds to create this music they call “alt Boulder.” Their first CD, Middle of the Night, (produced with a musical cast including some of Colorado’s brightest lights) brought them the expected joy and satisfaction of a job well done. Two of the songs, “Middle of the Night” and “Dan's Place” quickly found a place in the regular rotation at one of Denver's premier rock stations, 99.5 The Mountain. An ecclectic mix of artful rock influenced by The Beatles, Bob Dylan and classic country songwriters, vocal and musical harmonies abound with wonderful slide work throughout.
Travelling to
the distant past, Carla Sciaky, Miriam
Rosenblum and Ben Cohen form an Early Music Ensemble. Plaing music
from the Renaissance and early Baroque periods, the trio will perform some
some Salamone Rossi “tunes,” among others, on lute, viola da
gamba, and recorders.
As an added bonus this evening, experience Mysterious Modern Music, a fascinating new musical journey with a surprise.
