Scott Higgins is a freelance percussionist, teacher
and composer. His great talent affords him the opportunity to play often
with the Colorado Symphony, Colorado Chamber Players, Opera Colorado and
Boulder Philharmonic. He is a member of Colorado Ballet’s
orchestra and Principal Percussionist with the Central City Opera. Many of
Scott’s compositions have been performed by local groups around the
Denver area. Rice University’s percussion ensemble performed
his percussion ensemble piece ”Kinematic” in the fall of 2006
and “Funkadunk” in
fall of 2008. Tonight, Scott will perform some solo work on vibraphone, and
as a special treat, he has written
a chamber piece for himself on vibraphone and
members of the Intermezzo
Chamber Players — tonight is its world premiere. Don’t
miss this opportunity to see Scott in this intimate
setting.
Members of the Intermezzo Chamber Players, Stacy Lesartre, Dianne Wachsman Betkowski, and Nan Shannon, perform together as The Parabola Trio. With distinctive talent and a keen interest in all things chamber music, they will perform a piece selected specially for this evening’s event.
For lack of a better description
— and believe us, we tried — EVO is our “house
band.” This new group of friends and performers features a fusion of styles
with guitar, vocals, and strings. Come hear them perform, and maybe you
can come up
with a description befitting this truly eclectic group.
