Catherine Beeson

Viola Recital
accompanied by Nan Shannon on piano

7 pm / November 11, 2010

The thing you need to know about Catherine Beeson is that she is dedicated to experiential learning, leading music workshops for adults and children whenever possible. Catherine instructs viola at Regis University, teaches violin and viola privately, coaches chamber music and makes teaching visits to Denver public schools on a regular basis. She has designed and published teachers’ guides and lesson plans to support the education and outreach endeavors of the New York Philharmonic, Denver’s Up Close and Musical (UCAM) and Friends of Chamber Music.

As if those accomplishments weren't enough, Catherine is currently Assistant Principal Viola with the Colorado Symphony, she performs with the Lenape Chamber Ensemble, Santa Fe ProMusica chamber orchestra and Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra, and she is the Artistic Director and co-founder of the Loon Lake Live summer chamber music series in the northern Adirondack mountains of New York.

Tonight, we happily present Catherine in a viola recital with Nan Shannon accompanying on piano. Together, they will perform Hindemith’s Op. 11 No. 4 Sonata — and Catherine has some surprises in store as well.
