Semplice
Mountain Music Duo
The Klez Dispensers

7 pm / February 10, 2011

Carla Sciaky, Miriam Rosenblum and Ben Cohen form a trio called Semplice. Playing music from the Baroque period, the trio will perform on lute, viola da gamba and recorders.

The Mountain Music Duo are Tenly Williams and James Cline. Tenly is an active contributor to the Colorado music community, performing with several orchestras and chamber music groups across the Front Range. Her career has included positions with the Boulder Philharmonic, Binghamton Philharmonic and Fort Collins Symphony, as well as performances with the Austin Symphony, Boulder Philharmonic, Cheyenne Symphony, Colorado Symphony, Greeley Philharmonic and San Antonio Symphony Orchestras. James, who holds Doctorate and Master of Music degrees from the University of Colorado at Boulder, teaches at Regis University, Front Range Community College, the Rocky Mountain Center for Musical Arts and The Studio School. He performs regularly as a soloist and chamber musician with the Mountain Music Duo and the Colorado Guitar Quartet. He also operates his own recording studio, Little Ernie Productions.

Carla, Miriam and Ben play again tonight as the Klez Dispensers. Klezmer music is an exuberant musical experience, rooted firmly in traditional Jewish modes and melodies and driven by contemporary rhythms and danceable grooves. All the evening’s performers will join in, so it should be a blast!
