Trio Cordilleras
guest recital

7 pm / October 13, 2011
A cordillera, in both English and Spanish, is a chain of mountains. The Cordilleras is a long chain that joins the Americas together, from Argentina to Canada. With great flair and passion, Trio Cordilleras also joins the Americas together, creating head-turning performances of works by Argentine composer Luis González and composers of the Americas and Spain. The trio's first CD, ”Las Puertas del Tiempo: the Music of Luis Jorge González,“ released by the British label Meridian Records in 2009, was warmly received by the specialized press. Formed in Boulder, Colorado, Trio Cordilleras are former Colorado Symphony violinist Beth Kipper, Colorado Symphony cellist Thomas Heinrich and University of Colorado Associate Professor of Piano Pedagogy Alejandro Cremaschi. Tonight they perform works by Piazzolla, Cassadó, Paquito D’Rivera and Luis González.
